Ranunculus micranthus Nuttall. Subgenus: Auricomus. Section: Auricomus. Common name: Small-flowered Buttercup, Rock Buttercup. Phenology: Mar-Jun. Habitat: Rich bottomland forests, also upslope on mesic to dry forests and rock outcrops over mafic or calcareous substrates. Distribution: MA west to SD, south to e. VA, c. NC, sc. TN, WV, OH, and OK.
