Heuchera alba Rydberg. Section: Heuchera. Subsection: Heuchera. Phen: Jul-Sep. Hab: Quartzitic outcrops at high elevations (WV and VA), on acid cliffs at lower elevations (PA). Dist: C. PA south to w. VA and ne. WV. See Schuette et al. (2018) for discussion of the taxon and its range extension northwards into c. PA.

ID notes:Heuchera alba differs from H. pubescens in its large flowers with white, exserted petals (vs. greenish or purplish-green petals), and occurs at higher to lower elevations on acidic substrates, such as quartzitic sandstones (vs. at lower elevations on circumneutral or subacidic substrates).
