Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Raveill (2002) discusses the probably hybrid origin of Desmodium humifusum (paniculatum × rotundifolium). The exact nature of its origin and status as a hybrid versus a species of hybrid origin is unclear.
