Glycyrrhiza lepidota Pursh. Wild Licorice, American Licorice. Phen: Apr-Aug. Hab: Alluvial areas, moist prairies; eastwards in disturbed areas. Dist: ON west to BC, south to WI, MO, OK, TX, NM, AZ, CA, and Mexico (CHH). Described as naturalized in old fields in e. VA in Cronquist (1990), Fernald (1950), and Gleason & Cronquist (1952).
