Gymnocladus dioicus (Linnaeus) K. Koch. Kentucky Coffee-tree, Kentucky Mahogany. Phen: Apr-Jun; Aug-Nov (and persistent). Hab: Native in bottomland and riparian forests, mesic upland forests and woodlands, stream banks, swamp margins, often along rivers; also in disturbed areas, persistent and weakly spreading from horticultural plantings. Dist: The original native range has been obscured, perhaps PA west to se. SD, south to w. VA, TN, n. AL, and OK.
