Mimosa floridana (Chapman) Weakley & Flores-Cruz. Common name: Florida Sensitive-briar. Phenology: Apr-Sep. Habitat: Xeric longleaf pine sandhills and other dry, sandy habitats. Distribution: A Southeastern Coastal Plain endemic: s. GA south to s. FL.

Taxonomy Comments: This taxon is distinct at the specific level from M. quadrivalvis (Flores-Cruz et al. 2004; Weakley & Flores-Cruz 2017).
