Other Comments: Rather frequent hybrids between T. chrysophylla and T. florida are intermediate in morphology and have been found in AL, FL, GA, and MS; they have been given a hybrid binomial, T. ×intermedia (Small) Nesom & Zarucchi, replacing the later name T. ×floridana (Vail) Isely, which has been in regular use in the southeastern United States (Nesom & Zarucchi 2009).
