Intro: Erect to weakly erect perennial of lawns, fields, roadsides and other disturbed areas. Native of Europe.
Stems: Stems hollow and soft, somewhat branched, smooth to hairy.
Leaves: Leaves alternate; on petioles with a pair of lance-shaped stipules at the base; palmately divided into 3 oblong-oval leaflets, each about 1/2 in. long, finely toothed and mostly smooth.

Flowers: Flowers in round, dense heads, about 1/2-3/4 in. wide, on stalks from upper leaf axils; white or pink; bilaterally symmetric and tiny, with typical pea-flower shape.
