*Ulex europaeus Linnaeus. Gorse, Furze. Phen: (Jan-) May-Sep (-Nov). Hab: Disturbed forests, roadsides, and disturbed areas. Dist: Native of Europe. Not cited in Harvill et al. (1992), but naturalized in sandy soils in York County, VA.
