Taxonomy Comments: Var. davisii (W. Wight) Sargent is endemic to MI.
Other Comments: Prunus alleghaniensis is generally considered difficult to distinguish from P. umbellata other than by distribution, and is lumped there by Rohrer (2014b) in FNA9.
