*Prunus cerasifera Ehrhart. Subgenus: Cerasus. Cherry Plum, Flowering Plum, Purpleleaf Plum. Phen: Mar-Apr; Jun-Aug. Hab: Suburban woodlands. Dist: Native of Asia. Introduced at scattered locations; reported for TN, PA, NJ (Kartesz 1999).

Origin/Endemic status: E. and se. Asia
