Magnolia fraseri Walter. Subgenus: Magnolia. Section: Tuliparia. Fraser Magnolia, Mountain Magnolia, Earleaf Umbrella-tree. Phen: Apr-May; Jul-Aug. Hab: Mesic to dry forests. Dist: A Southern and Central Appalachian endemic: sw. PA (found in the 2010s, S. Grund, pers. comm., 2019), KY, and w. VA south through w. NC and e. TN to nw. SC, n. GA, and ne. AL.
