Spiraea virginiana Britton. Virginia Spiraea, Appalachian Spiraea, Virginia Meadowsweet. Phen: Jun-Jul; Aug-Sep. Hab: Riverbanks, riverside shrub thickets, where occasionally flood-scoured. Dist: A Southern Appalachian endemic: sw. PA, s. OH, WV, and sw. VA south through w. NC and e. TN to nw. GA.
