Ceanothus americanus Linnaeus var. americanus . Common New Jersey Tea, Northeastern Ceanothus. Phen: May-Jun; Jun-Jul. Hab: Woodland borders, dry woodlands, gladelike openings, dry ridge forests and woodlands (pine or oak) in the Mountains. Dist: ME west to WI, south to FL Panhandle and AL.
