*Cucurbita pepo Linnaeus. Common name: Pumpkin, Zucchini, Ornamental Gourd, Vegetable Marrow. Phenology: May-Oct. Habitat: Gardens, fields, trash heaps; commonly cultivated in home gardens and commercially, sometimes volunteering from seed the following year. Distribution: Native of tropical America.
