Viola pedata Linnaeus var. flabellata D. Don. Section: Nosphinium. Subsection: Pedatae. Sandhill Bird’s-foot Violet. Phen: Mar-May; May-Jun. Hab: Dry to xeric longleaf pine sandhills. Dist: Sc. NC south to c. SC (and perhaps GA). There are a few odd collections in the West Gulf Coastal Plain that resemble var. flabellata.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic
