*Pistacia chinensis Bunge. Chinese Pistachio. Phen: Mar-Apr. Hab: Planted horticulturally, but now naturalizing freely in suburban areas. Dist: Native of China, the Philippines, and Taiwan. Krings (2011) documents its occurrence in the Piedmont of NC (Wake County). Serviss & Serviss (2020) reported its naturalization in Arkadelphia, AR (Clark County). Reported for Marengo and Montgomery counties, AL (Diamond & Keener 2021).

ID notes:The fall color is yellowish-orange to bright red.

Origin/Endemic status: E. and se. Asia

Other Comments: This species is a major new invasive species in the Southeast.
