*Xanthosoma sagittifolium (Linnaeus) Schott. Arrowleaf Elephant-ear. Phen: Oct. Hab: Ditches. Dist: Native of tropical America.

Origin/Endemic status: Neotropics

Other Comments: It can be seen in ditches adjacent to ornamental plantings; it is uncertain whether it can be considered naturalized in the more northern parts of our area. It is superficially similar to Colocasia, differing in its non-peltate leaves.
