Melochia spicata (Linnaeus) Fryxell var. spicata . Bretonica-peluda. Phen: Jan-Dec. Hab: Calcareous pine flatwoods, disturbed areas. Dist: Probably native in peninsular FL, and widely distributed in tropical America, the original distribution somewhat uncertain.
