Kalmia angustifolia Linnaeus. Northern Sheepkill, Wicky. Phen: Apr-Jun; Sep-Oct. Hab: Sandy, xeric to mesic hillsides and moist areas, rocky areas, in ne. NC and se. VA in longleaf pine sandhills. Dist: NL (Labrador) west to MN, south to se. VA and extreme ne. NC, WV (Vanderhorst et al. 2019), s. ON, and MI, reaching its southern limit in the Coastal Plain of extreme ne. NC (Sorrie & LeBlond 2008).
