Taxonomy Comments: Differing from Galium in its involucrate inflorescence and the more tubular, pink to purple flowers, and usually treated as a monotypic genus, Sherardia, but Soza & Olmstead (2010) show Sherardia to be deeply embedded within a paraphyletic Galium.
