*Galium sherardia E.H.L. Krause. Blue Field-madder. Phen: Feb-Aug. Hab: Lawns, roadsides, other disturbed areas. Dist: Native of Europe.

Origin/Endemic status: Europe

Taxonomy Comments: Galium sherardia differs from most Galium in its involucrate inflorescence and the more tubular, pink to purple flowers, and is usually treated as a monotypic genus, Sherardia, but Soza & Olmstead (2010) show Sherardia to be deeply embedded within a paraphyletic Galium.
