Taxonomy Comments: In the impending splitting of Oldenlandia into monophyletic units, this species is likely to remain in Oldenlandia.
Other Comments: "A tropical and subtropical weed; found new to the state in Norfolk by personnel from the Old Dominion University Herbarium in 2005... growing between cinder block pavers in parking lot" (Virginia Botanical Associates 2019).
