Matelea flavidula (Chapman) Woodson. Yellow Spinypod. Phen: May-Jun; Aug-Oct. Hab: Moist, nutrient-rich forests. Dist: E. SC south to Panhandle FL, apparently rare throughout its range (the single NC record seems questionable and unlikely).
