*Cuscuta epithymum Linnaeus ssp. epithymum . Subgenus: Cuscuta. Clover Dodder. Phen: Jun-Oct. Hab: Primarily on Trifolium and Medicago. Dist: Native of Europe. Also known from scattered localities in PA (Rhoads & Klein 1993); reported for VA by Kartesz (1999), based on Massey (1961).

Origin/Endemic status: Europe

Taxonomy Comments: A second subspecies, ssp. kotschyi (Des Moulins) Arcangeli, is recognized, but has not appeared in our region.

Synonymy: = FNA14; < Cuscuta epithymum L. – C, F, G, GrPl, K1, K3, K4, Mi, NE, NY, Pa, WV, Yuncker (1965)
