*Ipomoea muricata (Linnaeus) Jacquin. Lilacbell, Purple Moonflower. Phen: Jun-Nov. Hab: Fields, disturbed areas; native (apparently) of Mexico. Dist: Austin & Jansson (1988) discussed the species’ spread in se. United States, apparently as a contaminant in soybean seeds.

Origin/Endemic status: Neotropics

Taxonomy Comments: Staples et al. (2005) reinstated the name I. muricata.
