Isoetes melanospora Engelmann. Black-spored Quillwort. Hab: In pools on granite flatrocks. Dist: Endemic to GA. Material previously attributed here from Forty Acre Rock, SC, is a new species.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: A diploid species (2n=22).

Synonymy: = S13, Sf, Musselman (2001); < Isoetes melanopoda Gay & Durieu ex Durieu – RAB; < Isoetes melanospora Engelm. – FNA2, K1, K3, K4
