Plantago heterophylla Nuttall. Slender Plantain, Many-seeded Plantain, Small Plantain. Phen: Mar-May. Hab: Fields, roadsides, disturbed areas. Dist: Se. VA and MO south to Panhandle FL and TX; adventive at scattered sites farther north (at least as far north as NY).

ID notes:Superficially similar to Plantago pusilla.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Synonymy: = Ar, C, F, Fl6, FNA17, G, Il, K1, K3, K4, NcTx, NY, RAB, S, Tat, Tn, Va, W, WH3, Bassett (1966), Rosatti (1984); = Plantago hybrida W.P.C.Barton – GW2, Tx, (an older name but of uncertain application)
