Hab: Shale barrens, outcrops of calcareous or mafic rock, diabase barrens, calcareous dry prairies, disturbed rocky areas. Dist: VT and s. ON west to MN and NE, south to c. and w. NC, nc. SC, nw. GA, AL, TX, and AZ.
