Ruellia pinetorum Fernald. Section: Boreosilva. Pineland Wild-petunia. Phen: May-Sep. Hab: Dry to wet pinelands and prairies. Dist: SC south to Panhandle FL, west to e. TX.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: Although treated as only subspecifically distinct from R. pedunculata by many recent authors, there seem ample differences in morphology, distribution, and habitat to warrant specific distinction. First reported for GA by Sorrie (1998b).

Synonymy: = F, RAB, Tx, Turner (1991), Ward (2007c); = Ruellia pedunculata Torr. ex A.Gray ssp. pinetorum (Fernald) R.W.Long – Fl6, K1, K3, K4, WH3, Long (1970), Wasshausen (1998)
