Nymphoides cordata (Elliott) Fernald. Little Floating Heart. Phen: Apr-Aug. Hab: Upland depression ponds, sluggish streams, beaverponds, primarily in the fall-line Sandhills. Dist: NL (Newfoundland) and ON south MD; disjunct in the Coastal Plain of NC and SC; disjunct from sw. GA and Panhandle FL west to e. LA.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: A tetraploid species (2n=36) (Tippery et al. 2018).

Synonymy: = C, F, Fl7, GW2, K1, K3, K4, NE, NY, Pa, RAB, WH3, Middleton et al (2018), Wood (1983a); = Nymphoides cordatum – G, Tat, orthographic variant; ? Nymphoides lacunosum (Vent.) Kuntze – S, misapplied
