Crataegus craytonii Beadle. Phen: Late Apr-May; Sep. Hab: Wooded slopes, roadsides, streamsides. Dist: W. NC to n. GA, n. AL, possibly e. TN; an ambiguous record in New Kent County, VA.
Origin/Endemic status: Endemic
Other Comments: A rare and sporadic species poorly understood due to a paucity of collections. Allied to C. intricata Lange but unique in its combination of 20- stamened flowers and copiously pubescent foliage and inflorescence.
