Cirsium horridulum Michaux var. horridulum . Common Yellow Thistle, Bull Thistle. Phen: Late Mar-early Jun. Hab: Roadsides, woodlands, pine savannas. Dist: ME south to FL, west to TX, mostly on the Coastal Plain and adjacent provinces; also Mexico and Bahamas.
