Coreopsis delphiniifolia Lamarck. Larkspur Coreopsis. Phen: May-Jul. Hab: Dry woodlands. Dist: The species ranges from e. VA and s. NC south to c. GA, and se. TN (Polk County) (Chester, Wofford, & Kral 1997), and reputedly AL.
Origin/Endemic status: Endemic
Taxonomy Comments: Smith (1976) indicated that the species is an allopolyploid derivative (at 4×, 6×, and 8×) of C. major, C. tripteris, and C. verticillata. Its range extends south well beyond the range of C. verticillata.
