Coreopsis falcata F.E. Boynton. Pool Coreopsis. Phen: Early May-early Jul (rarely later, perhaps in response to growing season fire). Hab: Peat bogs, very wet savannas, ditches and borrow pits in savannas. Dist: The species is endemic to the Coastal Plain of se. VA (City of Chesapeake), e. NC, e. SC, and e. GA; disjunct in Oconee County, SC and Henderson County, NC. First reported for VA by Wieboldt et al. (1998).

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: C. falcata should not be included (as by Cronquist in C and SE) in C. gladiata; the two species are distinctive in ecological preferences, morphology, phenology, and distribution.
