Coreopsis tinctoria Nuttall var. tinctoria . Calliopsis, Plains Coreopsis. Phen: May-Sep. Hab: Streambanks, riverbanks, roadsides and other disturbed places. Dist: Var. tinctoria was apparently widespread in the Great Plains and sc. United States, now distributed nearly throughout North America.
