Eupatorium sessilifolium Linnaeus var. brittonianum Porter. Britton's Eupatorium. Phen: Aug; Sep. Hab: Circumneutral soils of woodlands at moderate elevations. Dist: NH and MN, south to NJ, PA, MD, w. NC, KY, and MO.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Other Comments: The only collection from NC known to me is from Cedar Cliff, Buncombe County, in 1897. I disagree with Cronquist's equation of this taxon with E. godfreyanum.
