Iva microcephala Nuttall. Small-headed Marsh-elder. Phen: Sep-Oct. Hab: Wet pine flatwoods, flatwood ponds, clay-based Carolina bays, Florida wet prairies, marshes. Dist: Sc. NC south to s. FL, west to se. AL.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Other Comments: A seed-banking annual, locally abundant some years and absent in others, depending on the variable hydrologic conditions of Carolina bays and other seasonally flooded wetlands.
