Pyrrhopappus carolinianus (Walter) A.P. de Candolle. False-dandelion, Carolina Desert-chicory. Phen: Mar-Jun (and sometimes later). Hab: Dry and moist forests, roadsides, meadows, fields. Dist: DE, se. PA, and MD south to c. peninsular FL, west to IL, MO, and TX; the pre-Columbian range is uncertain.
