Rudbeckia maxima Nuttall. Common name: Giant Coneflower. Phenology: May-Jun. Habitat: Pinelands, prairies, low areas in silty or sandy soils, also (eastwards) in disturbed areas (persistent from horticultural use). Distribution: AR and se. OK south to LA and e. TX.
