Rudbeckia triloba Linnaeus var. beadlei (Small) Fernald. Chauncey's Coneflower. Phen: Jul-Oct. Hab: Seepy mafic or limestone cliffs. Dist: A Southern Appalachian endemic: sw. VA and KY south to w. NC and e. TN (allegedly also scattered in IL [Mohlenbrock 2014]).

Synonymy: = Tn, Va; = Rudbeckia beadlei Small – S; < Rudbeckia triloba L. – RAB, W; < Rudbeckia triloba L. var. beadlei (Small) Fernald – F; < Rudbeckia triloba L. var. beadleyi – Il, misspelling; < Rudbeckia triloba L. var. pinnatiloba Torr. & A.Gray – C, FNA21, G, K1, K4, SE1, Perdue (1957), defined broadly to include "R. beadlei"
