Solidago riddellii Frank ex Riddell. Subgenus: Pleiactila. Section: Ptarmicoidei. Riddell's Goldenrod. Phen: Aug-Nov. Hab: Wet, calcareous prairies, fens, calcareous swamps, calcareous seeps. Dist: ON and MB south to OH, IN, IL, n. AR, and KS; disjunct in w. VA and nw. GA. The specimen from Fort Monroe ("Fortress Monroe, Va." – Fernald 1950) is accurately identified but seems likely to a mislabeling.

ID notes:The leaves folded along the midvein to a sharp V is a useful field character.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: A diploid species, 2n=18.
