Solidago tortifolia Elliott. Subgenus: Pleiactila. Section: Unilaterales. Subsection: Triplinervae. Series: Tortifoliae. Leafy Pineywoods Goldenrod. Phen: Aug-Nov. Hab: Longleaf pine sandhills (especially in loamy flats and dips), sandy longleaf pine sandhills, other dry pinelands, calcareous clay prairies (Black Belt of AL and MS). Dist: Se. VA south to s. FL, west to AR and TX.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: Semple (2023c) studied the cytogeography of Solidago tortifolia, and found it to be apparently uniformly diploid (2n=18).
