Dirca Linnaeus. Leatherwood, Leatherbark.

Key to Dirca

A genus of 4 species, shrubs, of North America (including Mexico). The two species in the southeastern United States are most closely related to D. mexicana Nesom & Mayfield (of the Sierra Madre Oriental, Tamaulipas, Mexico); the other species is D. occidentalis A. Gray of California (Schrader & Graves 2004; Floden, Mayfield, & Ferguson 2009).
