*Hesperocyparis Bartel & R.A. Price. New World Cypress, Western Cypress.

A genus of about 16 species, trees and shrubs, of sw. United States and Mexico. The New World cypresses were traditionally treated as congeneric with Old World Cupressus, but it is now increasingly clear based on molecular and morphological evidence that they should be regarded as a separate genus (Zhu et al. 2018).
