Symphyotrichum pratense (Rafinesque) Nesom. Barrens Silky Aster. Phen: Sep-Nov (-Jan). Hab: Calcareous glades and barrens, prairies. Dist: S. AR west to ne. TX and se. OK, south to sc. LA and e. TX; disjunct at scattered localities east of the Mississippi River, as in sw. VA (Ludwig 1999), sw. NC (Kelly & Knapp 2019), c. KY, TN (Chester, Wofford, & Kral 1997), nw. GA, sw. GA, Panhandle FL (Gadsden County), n. and c. AL, and wc. MS.
