Key to Nymphoides

A genus of about 20 species, aquatic herbs, cosmopolitan.

Glossary (beta!)

ID notes: As the scientific name implies, the leaves of Nymphoides bear a superficial resemblance to those of Nymphaea. The leaves of Nymphoides are more cordate, the two basal lobes more rounded, rather than having a rather sharp corner or angle. Nymphoides cordata has much smaller leaves than Nymphaea, while the thickly pebbled texturing of Nymphoides aquatica is very unlike the glossy smoothness of Nymphaea.
