Key to Pieris

A genus of 7 species, shrubs, of e. Asia, e. North America, and Cuba. Judd (1982a) treats Pieris as a genus of 7 species, 4 in e. Asia, 1 in the Southern Appalachian Mountains, 1 in the se. United States Coastal Plain, and 1 in w. Cuba. Li et al. (2009) developed a phylogeny of the genus, and declined to recognize previously used subgenera and sections.
