Viburnum scabrellum (Torrey & A. Gray) Chapman. Common name: Southern Arrow-wood. Habitat: Streambanks, marshes, swamps, other moist sites. Distribution: A Coastal Plain endemic, ranging from se. GA south to c. peninsular FL, west to e. TX; with scattered collections north to ec. GA (Richmond County), ne. AL (Cherokee County), nw. AL (Lamar County), c. MS, and n. LA.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Other Comments: Expected in s. AR, but no specimens seen. Specimens of V. dentatum from s. SC show signs of hybridization. Mohr (1901) and some other 19th century authors misapplied the name V. molle to it.
