Sabal brazoriensis D.H. Goldman, L. Lockett, & R.W. Read. Brazoria Palmetto. Phen: Jun; Sep-Nov. Hab: Floodplain forests. Dist: Endemic to a small area of Brazoria County, Texas, in and around the Palm Unit of San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge.
Origin/Endemic status: Endemic
Taxonomy Comments: This taxon was named by Goldman et al. (2011) as a hybrid. Their evidence suggests that it is of hybrid origin involving Sabal minor × palmetto, but the genetic differentiation and its distant geography from existing populations of S. palmetto suggest it is better accorded status as a species of hybrid origin.
