Cicuta mexicana Coulter & Rose. Southern Water-hemlock. Phen: May-Aug; Jul-Sep. Hab: Marshes, bogs, seepages, ditches, swamp forests, floating vegetation mats. Dist: Se. VA (Godfrey & Wooten 1981), south to FL, and west to TX, south into Mexico (more inland records in our area and westward are of uncertain disposition).

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Though not recognized by Mulligan (1980), this taxon appears to warrant taxonomic recognition. It is a generally coarser plant than C. maculata.

Synonymy: = GW2, MC, RAB, Tx; = Cicuta curtissii Coult. & Rose – S, Tat; = Cicuta maculata L. var. curtissii (Coult. & Rose) Fernald – F, G; < Cicuta maculata L. – Fl7; < Cicuta maculata L. var. maculata – C, K3, K4, Mulligan (1980)
